The purpose of this study was to analyze the rate of return to commercial high school education. An extensive analysis on the literature of the rate of return was made to develop a theoretical basis for this study. In order to analyze the rate of return to the commercial high school education, questionnaire survey was conducted to 420 students. Major findings of this study are as follows: The rate of returns to the commercial high school education for male is 7.32%, and that of commercial high school education for female is 7.44%. The result of this study shows the rate of returns to the commercial high school education is higher than the real market rate of interest. In interpretating the result of this study on the returns to the commercial high school education, we should keep in mind the following point. There are economic benefit and non-economic benefit in educational benefit. And it is traditional belief that non-economical benefit is more portion than economical benefit in educational benefit. But it is very difficult to measure the non-economic benefit. So it is very common that only economic benefit of education, especially income, is included in the study on the rate of return to education. In this respect, this study is not exceptional. So the real rate of return to the commercial high school education may be higher than the rate of return to the commercial high school education estimated in this study. To estimate the exact rate of return to the commercial high school education, the longitudinal studies on the rate of return to the commercial high school education should be conducted with the cross sectional studies.
