신약 그리스어 본문비평, 번역, 그리고 해석 : G. J. C. Jordaan을 중심으로

국문 초록 (Abstract)

남아공 개혁교회(GKSA)의 노쓰-웨스트대학교(포쳅스트룸) 신약학 교수 헤르트 요하네스 코르넬리스 요르단(Gert Johannes Cornelis [Jorrie] Jordaan, b. 1951)은 그리스어 문법과 신약 본문비평 및 석의 전문가이 다. 그의 문학박사(D. Litt.) 학위논문 주제는 “Die Beoordeling van Woordorde-Variante in die Evangelie volgens Lukas”(누가복음의 어순- 이문에 관한 평가, 1979)였다. 그는 박사학위 취득과 동시에 포쳅스트룸대학교 고전학부 그리스어 학과장으로 취임했고, 1982년에 남아공 개혁 교회의 목사로 임직하여 1988년까지 펄윤스크룬(Viljoenskroon)교회와 동판덜베일파크(Vanderbijlpark-Oos)교회를 목회했다. 그리고 1989년에 포쳅스트룸대학교 신약학 교수로 부임했다. 그는 목사와 교수로 사역하 면서(1992-2002), 남아공 개혁교회의 일반 성도를 위한 월간지 Die Kerkblad의 편집장으로서 신학을 성도의 일상에 녹이는 노력을 긴 기간 동안 아끼지 않았다. 이 글은 요르단의 신약 그리스어 본문 연구에 나 타난 특징과 기여를 탐구하고, 오늘날 신약 연구에 어떤 방향을 제시하는가를 논구한다.

Gert Johannes Cornelis (Jorrie) Jordaan (b. 1951), Emeritus Professor of New Testament Studies at the University of North-West (Potchefstroom Campus) which is run by Gereformeerde Kerk van Suid Afrika (GKSA), is a specialist in Greek grammar and New Testament textual criticism and exegesis. His doctoral dissertation was on “Die Beoordeling van Woordorde-Variante in die Evangelie volgens Lukas” (An Evaluation of the Word Order-Reading Variations in the Gospel of Luke, 1979). Upon receiving his doctoral degree, Jordaan became the Chair of Greek in the Department of Classical Studies at Potchefstroom University, and was ordained as a pastor of the GKSA in 1982, pastoring Viljoenskroon Church and Vanderbijlpark-Oos Church until 1988. And in 1989, he was appointed as a professor of New Testament at Potchefstroom University. While serving as a pastor and professor (1992-2002), he worked hard to integrate theology into the daily lives of the congregation as the editor-in-chief of Die Kerkblad, a monthly magazine for the general congregation of GKSA. This article explores the characteristics and contributions of Jordaan’s New Testament Greek text and discusses the direction it suggests for New Testament studies today.
