마음의 이론’에서 본 아동의 ‘심적 세계’ = Preschool children’s understanding of ‘mental world’ from the viewpoint of ‘the theory of mind’

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

In the research field called 'theory of mind', recent researchers focused on the issue of how preschool children would understand their 'mental world' including mental states of objects as well as mental states of human beings. The mental states could be distinguished from the real states and could be changed in various ways regardless of their real states. Particularly in the case for the mental states of human beings the states have causal function in which an event would bring about a mental state; then the mental state bringing about another event. Thus, the mental world of preschool children could be considered as having three aspects: a mental state distinguished form the real state, a mental state as a consequence of an event, and a literature on the above three aspects of mental wourld of preschool children and some possible directions for future research were suggested.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

이 연구에서는 지금까지 이른바 ‘마음의 이론’이란 부르는 연구영역에서 수행된 3가지 종류로 나누어 각 연구의 결과를 개관하고 그 결과들이 논의되었다. 3가지 종류의 연구 즉, 연구의 성과를 하나로 정리한 개념구조를 설명하는 연구논제, 마음의 이론이란 것을 하나의 이론으로 부를 수 있는지에 대한 연구논제 및 심적 상태에 대한 행동의 귀속이 가능한 연령에 관한 논제로 수행된 논문들을 중심으로 아동의 심적 세계의 성질에 근거하여 개관되고 정리되었다. 이들 논문들을 개관한 결과 다음과 같은 결론이 도출되었다. 1) 과제가 다양하고 각 과제가 심적 세계의 인과적 성질의 이해라고 하는 시점에서 통일된 것이 없었다. 2) 개념적 이해를 검토하는 과제에서는 사용되는 심적 동사의 의미가 아동들이 어떻게 이해하고 있는지에 대해서 충분한 검토가 필요하다. 3) 오신념(false belief) 과제가 아동들의 심적 세계의 이해에 대한 연구에서 연구과제로서의 갖는 의미를 검토할 필요가 있다. 4) 종래의 아동의 심적 세계의 이해에 대한 연구의 과제가 점차 복잡한 것이 되어 가는 경향이 있는데, 각 과제가 아동이 파악할 수 있는지 없는지를 고려함과 동시에 결과로서의 심적 상태의 이해와 원인으로서의 심적 상태의 이해를 함께 검토할 필요가 있다.
