漢江 및 京仁運河를 利用하는 廢棄物 運搬 시스템 構築方案에 관한 硏究 = (The) study about alternative waste transfer system using seoul-incheon canal

Problems regarding wastes can not be solved only by market function and governmental intervention is required. Government should establish and implement the policy to control waste production and treatment. Under mass spending culture production of wastes is indispensible, and mass production of wastes also results in other problems such as transfer, recycle, and final disposal, etc.
In this study alternative waste transfer system using canal system was investigated and this could replace vehicle transfer system to ship transfer system using the canal constructed in Han river. This shipping transfer system could minimize the transfer expense, pollution problems and traffic congestion compared to vehicle transfer system. It also helps the aesthetic conditions around Kimpo airport and new Youngjong-do international airport.
To accomplish this plan successfully waste containment system with compression capability has to be developed, and number and location of waste transfer stations also should be properly considered. Safety and pollution prevention plans during the transfer have to be provided at the same time. This alternative waste transfer system using canal could be fine solution for waste transfer around Seoul and near surrounding area.
