유치환 시에 나타난 헤테로토피아 구현 양상 - 『生命의 書』를 중심으로 = Aspects of the Realization of Heterotopia in the Poetry of Yu Chi-hwan - Focusing on the "Saengmyeonguiseo"

국문 초록 (Abstract)

이 글은 미셸 푸코의 헤테로토피아론을 토대로 유치환의 生命의 書에 나타난헤테로토피아 구현 양상을 밝히려는 시도이다. 유치환의 헤테로토피아는 그가 식민지 조선땅을 등진 채 만주행을 선택한 데 기원한다. 목숨을 부지하는 대신 사회가 요구한 지식인의 사명을 저버렸다는 죄책은, 자신 그리고 자신의 몸담은 장소에 대한 문제제기를 끊임없이 일으키는 요인으로 작용한다. 그 결과 유치환 시는만주 체험과 속죄의식이 교차하는 지점에서 특유한 헤테로토피아를 구현하고 있다. 이 글은 식민지 조선을 확장하여 재현하고 반복하는 ‘滿洲’ 자체를 ‘거울의 헤테로토피아’로 파악하고, 그 큰 틀 안에 양립하는 ‘일탈의 헤테로토피아/구원의헤테로토피아’를 분석함으로써, 유치환 시의 특질과 의식세계의 지형도를 짚어내고는 데 주안점을 둔다. 요컨대 유치 시에 나타나는 헤테로토피아적 특성은 그가 기존의 시 쓰기 관습을 뛰어넘어 여타 시인들과 구분되는 특이한 시텍스트를 산출하는 동력이라는 점에서 의미가 있다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Based on Michel Foucault’s theory of heterotopia, this paper attempts to reveal the embodiment of heterotopia in Yu Chi-hwan’s "Saengmyeonguiseo".
In Yu Chi-hwan’s poem, heterotopia originates from his choice to travel to Manchuria with his back to the colonized land of Korea. The guilt of having abandoned the mission of an intellectual required by society in exchange for survival is a factor that causes him to constantly question himself and his place. As a result, Yu Chi-hwan’s poems embody a unique heterotopia at the intersection of Manchurian experience and atonement. By identifying “Manchuria” itself as a ‘mirror heterotopia’ that expands and repeats the colonial ancestry, and analyzing the compatible ‘heterotopia of deviation/heterotopia of salvation’ within that framework, this paper aims to point out the characteristics of Yu Chi-hwan’s poetry and the topography of the world of consciousness. In short, the heterotopian nature of Yu Chi-hwan’s poetry is significant in that it is what drives him to transcend conventional poetry writing conventions and produce unusual texts that set him apart from other poets.
