This essay is focused on Choi Ha-rim's poems that persistently look into the scene reflected in time and words. While Choi Ha-lim's early poems flowed through a turbulent vortex of history, his late ones were filled with the time of early dawn roaring a hollow space. In his young days burning with passion, he even held fast to works to stand under a heavy burden of history. However, as the struggle for freeing words from oppression was continued, more painful endurance was required for him to walk along the road of time, which was a journey of discord and agony.
Nonetheless, he had an iron will to never give up. His poems could be realized only after he left the recognition of time in a streaming scene, and buried the despair of history in darkness, to stand alone. He could not reform the scene and resurrect his poems until he rose above time. It means that Choi Ha-lim then for the first time could look into the time, having passed with the scene, and his silent inside. Only the poet, who has perceived the limit of a language can say in this way.
