존 듀이 관점에서 포스트코로나시대 음악교육의 가치와 역할: 『민주주의와 교육』과 『경험으로서의 예술』을 중심으로 = The Value and Role of Music Education in the Post-Corona Era from J. Dewey's Perspective: Focused on Democracy and Education and Art as Experience

국문 초록 (Abstract)

포스트코로나시대의 시대적 변혁과 사회적 양상은 학교 음악교육의 변화와 새로운 양상을 요구하기에 이르렀다. 그 중심에는 유기체 인간의 생명과 일상 삶의 소중함을 일깨우는 생각이 자리하게 되었다. 그러므로 포스트코로나시대의 음악교육은 생명과 삶을 기초로 하는 음악교육의 가치와 역할을 제안할 필요가 있다. 존 듀이는 미국을 대표하는 프래그머티즘 철학자로서 20세기 초 미국의 변혁뿐 아니라 세계의 격동을 몸소 겪으며, 당대에 주어진 문제 해결과 다가올 미래를 위한 건설적인 철학적 혜안을 제시하였다. 그 가운데 포스트코로나시대의 바람직한 음악교육을 위해, 특히 고려할 수 있는 그의 저서가 교육적 혜안을 담고 있는 『민주주의와 교육』과 예술적 혜안을 담고 있는『경험으로서의 예술』이다. 전자에서는 삶의 필연성으로서 교육과 사회적 기능으로서의 교육이 강조되고, 후자에서는 삶과 연속성의 예술과 인간의 기여로서의 예술이 강조된다. 이러한 듀이의 관점에서 포스트코로나시대 음악교육의 가치와 역할은, ‘인간 생명의 유지와 삶의 필연성의 장으로서 음악교육’, ‘자연 질성의 경험과 질적 사유의 장으로서 음악교육’, ‘자연 생태교육의 장으로서 음악교육’, ‘일상 삶과의 연속의 장으로서 음악교육’, ‘직관과 상상 함양의 장으로서 음악교육’, ‘문명과 정신의 연속화의 장으로서 음악교육’ 등으로 제안될 수 있다. 이러한 제안으로 포스트코로나시대 음악교육의 가치와 역할은 인간 유기체의 생명력 확충과 행복한 삶을 구성하는 데 있어서 그 위상을 더욱 견고히 할 것이다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Social transformation and all aspects of life in a time of the post COVID-19 pandemic era have led to changes of several aspects in music education. At the center of it is an idea that awakens the importance of organic human life and daily life. Therefore, in a time of the post COVID-19 pandemic era we need to propose that the music education should be based on our daily life. John Dewey, a leading pragmatist philosopher in the United States, witnessed not only American innovation but also profound changes of the world in the early 20th century, and presented constructive philosophical solutions for solving the problems in the present and the future. Among them, his books, Democracy and Education and Art as Experience have an educational and artistic insights, which can be considered essential works especially for desirable music education in a time of the post COVID-19 pandemic era. In the former work, he emphasized the role of education both as an indispensable to individual and society and as a social function and in the latter book, he emphasized recovering the continuity of esthetic experience with normal processes of living and finds in art qualities that contribute to the relationships of the human being. From Dewey's philosophical point of view, the value and role of music education in a time of the post COVID-19 pandemic era can be proposed as "music education as a venue for maintaining human life and inevitability of life." With this proposal, the value and role of music education in a time of the post COVID-19 pandemic era will further strengthen its status in expanding the vitality of human organisms and constructing a happy life.
