교육과정과 해설서의 독도기술과 학교급별 체계적 독도교육의 방안 모색 = Description of Dokdo in Curriculum Commentary and School Level Systematic Dokdo Education Method

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This paper has three points as follows. First, description of Dokdo in curriculum commentary and school level systematic Dokdo education method will be discussed. Second, through comparison between curriculum commentary and current textbooks, the differences in descriptions of Dokdo will be pointed. Finally, a proposal for improvement will be suggested. According to the result of contents analyzing of an auxiliary Dokdo textbook and problem identifying, the followings are necessary to each school level. At elementary school level, learning of easy subject such as natural environments and geographical characteristics of Dokdo, at middle school level, understanding the lives of residents in the south-eastern coastal areas of Korea related to Dokdo, at high school level, establishing a view of history and territory with the will of protecting Dokdo, suitable for future-oriented Korea-Japan relations are needed. Clearly identifying Japanese claims of sovereignty over Dokdo and Education on this islet, equipping our students with corresponding logic, having the Japanese realize inappropriateness and irrationality of his own claim and education, and keeping the international society informed of this are included in the ultimate goal of Dokdo Education. To do this, Dokdo researchers and front-line teachers have to engage themselves in Dokdo Education, closely linked with each other through constant communications.
