이혼의 심리사회적 원인과 상담적 함의 = Psycho-social Grounds of Divorce and Counseling Implication

This paper examines the psycho-social grounds of divorce and counseling implication based on the domestic and foreign literature of the divorce statistics and on the case studies of divorce counseling. It is a common phenomenon that the divorce rate is increasing in Korea. According to the statistics, the divorce rate in 2003 indicated 54.8% of marriages. This paper described that grounds of increase of divorce rate included change of meaning of marriage, increase of women's status and gender role gap, social-economic change, legal institution, and inadequacy of conflict resolution and counseling system. Social exchange theory was introduced for predicting of the probable factor of divorce. A few preeminent trends in psycho-social grounds of divorce were discerned in analysis. First, dyadic/relational grounds(eg ; difference of personality) was the most important, secondly, economy grounds, individual/personal grounds(eg ; violence, spouse's infidelity)were important. Second, There seemed to be two types of divorces : his and hers. Women mentioned more frequently reasons pertaining inequality of marital life and husband's and in-law's use of patriarchal authority or abuses whereas men complained about their wives inattentiveness and neglect to family needs.. Third, the older women were proposed divorce for violence and spouse's infidelity. The counseling implication of results was proposed and discussed about 2 cases of divorce counseling (divorce decision - making stage).

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 국내외 이혼관련 문헌자료를 이용하여 이혼의 심리사회적 원인을 고찰하고 이혼 전 상담사례 연구를 병행하여 그 상담적 함의를 논의하는 것이 목적이다. 최근 우리나라 이혼현황을 제시하고 이혼증가의 사회적 배경으로 결혼의 의미가 변화된 점, 여성의 지위가 향상되고 역할에 대한 젠더 격차가 커지고 있는 점, 사회적 경제적 상황의 변화, 법제도의 변화, 갈등해결방법에 대한 지식부족과 상담시스템의 미비 등을 제시하였다. 그리고 사회교환이론에 기초한 이혼결정요인들을 소개하고 이혼경험자의 주관적 이혼사유들과 성별, 연령대별 차이를 고찰하여 그 상담적 함의를 기술하였으며, 이혼상담사례를 통한 임상 실제에서의 함의를 논의하였다.
