발달장애 성인 생활시설의 성관련 서비스 실태 및 관리자의 태도 : -서울 지역의 생활시설을 중심으로 = Sexuality Services and the Manager’ Attitude in Residential Facilities for Adults with Developmental Disorder

Sexuality is an inherent part being human and how it is experienced affects mental and physical health, as wellas social relationship. People with Developmental disorder have historically been denied the human, legal, and civil righys to which they are entitlled and their sexuality has been suppressed by means as institutionalization and forced sterilization. The purpose of this study was to examine the sexuality politices and services in residential facilities for adults with developmental disorder today, as well as opportunities for resident choice-making and attitudes toward the sexuality of adults with developmental disorder.
This study was conducted utilizing a e-mail survay of residential services for adults with developmental disorder who belonging to Seoul, an umbrella organization of private providers of services to persons with disabilies. Data was collected using a e-mailed questionnaire, which was sent to director of member agencies. Forty-two completed questionnaires were retuned, for a response rate of 42%.
All of the responding agencies provided some sexsuality education for residents, and many provided a wide range of educatintion and support services. In the responding agencies permitted the sexuality of adults with developmental disorder, a statistically significant difference was found the chioce-making and agree toward the sexuality of adults with developmental disorder, gender.
In the adults with developmental disorder, a statistically significant difference was found the movility, health, and gender.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

성은 인간의 천성적인 부분으로서, 신체, 정신, 그리고 관계에까지 영향을 미치는 것이다. 발달장애인들은 인간적, 법률적 그리고 시민으로서의 권리가 부인되었으며 그들의 성은 역시 제도적으로 억압되어왔다. 연구의 목적은 발달장애인의 성에 대한 사고방식과 시설생활 발달장애인의 선택에 대한 기회제공과 같은 현재 거주시설에서 발달장애성인을 위한 성정책과 지원서비스에 대하여 살펴보고자 하였다. 본 연구는 장애인서비스 시설에서 서울지역의 발달장애성인들을 위한 서비스 시설에 이메일을 이용하여 설문을 조사하였다. 자료는 기관의 관리자에게 이메일을 통하여 설문을 발송하여 40%의 설문응답이 회수되었다. 발달장애인의 성행동 허용에 대한 생활시설의 관리자들의 태도를 살펴보았을 때, 발달장애인의 성행동 허용에는 관리자들의 내담자 성행동에 대한 선택기회 부여와 내담자의 성행동 동의, 그리고 성별이 유의한 영향을 미친다고 나타났다. 시설에서 생활하는 발달장애인의 성행동 허용에는 영향을 미치는 발달장애인의 변인들을 살펴보았을 때, 발달장애인의 성별이 유의미한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났으며 또한 발달장애인의 이동성 및 건강이 성행동 허용 태도에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다.
