Drawing on the knowledge-based view, this study examines how firms convert supply-chain dynamism into relational and digital capabilities that enhance market performance. Using two-wave survey data from Korean manufacturing and logistics firms collected during the peri- and post-COVID periods, a longitudinal PLS-SEM analysis reveals that supply-chain dynamism consistently strengthens relational capital and digital transformation. Relational capital enhances both digital transformation and market performance, with its influence declining significantly in the post-COVID phase. This indicates a shift from collaborative knowledge acquisition toward internalized digital competence. Mediation tests confirm that relational capital and digital transformation sequentially transmit the effects of environmental turbulence to performance outcomes. Multi-group analysis provides further evidence of temporal evolution in capability development. This study advances the knowledge-based view by demonstrating how knowledge-sharing and knowledge-integration mechanisms evolve across crisis and recovery contexts. Practical recommendations are offered for managers seeking to balance relational collaboration and digital capability building as environmental conditions change.
