情動과 ‘백색 테러’- 암흑의 정치학, 중국 좌익문학의 의인화와 노래

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 정동(情動, affect) 개념을 응용하여 중국 현대 좌익 작가 작품을 독해하고, 나아가 중국어의 특징에서 비롯되어 나타난 중국 현대문학의 정동성(affectivity)이 기존 서구의 정동성 개념에 문화 이론적으로 기여할 수 있는 바를 탐색하고자 한다. 이 연구는 1920년대 말 및 1930년대 초, ‘백색 테러’(White Terrors)의 경험을 표현한 중국 좌익 작가의 시, 소설, 보고문학 작품을 정동/감응 개념을 활용하여 상호텍스트적으로 자세히 읽기(close reading) 방법으로 분석한다. 기존 감정 연구의 인지 중심적 편향을 극복하기 위하여 본 연구는 정동 개념으로 감정과 몸을 연결하여, 그것이 인지적, 정동적, 예술적․미학적, 그리고 정치적인 면에서 다층적으로 교차하며 유기적으로 작동하는 방식을 살펴본다. 또한 중국 좌익 문학에서 정동의 경험이 표현되는 양식을 분류하고 해독하여, 중국 현대문학에 구현된 정동의 결합체가 현재의 테러 공포 상황에 시사하는 사회적 의의를 탐색한다.

Through a close reading of literary texts, this study examines how affect and affectivity were represented in the works written by the Chinese left-wing writers in the 1930s. Utilized as a survival strategy to fend off censorship, the trope of darkness and landscape thus emerged as a cardinal means of expression in their works. Moreover, through an analysis of the rhetoric of simile and repetition, the study addresses the ways in which affect and landscape are inextricably woven together. By exploring narratives on Chinese revolutionaries and their political devotion, it aims to expand the range of affect studies and further suggests the significance of Chinese left-wing literature for envisioning the new meaning of the social.
