      • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate factors predicting patient safety management activities by general hospital nurses awareness of the health care accreditation system and demographic factors. Methods: The participants were 203 nurses working at B general hospital located in G city. The data were collected using a structured questionnaire from August 20 to August 25 2014. They were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, one way ANOVA, pearson’s correlation and multiple regression analysis with the SPSS 21.0 program. Results: Patient safety management activities were significantly correlated with the awareness of the health care accreditation system. Multiple regression analysis showed that improvement in quality of care, work experience in present hospital (years), experience of patient safety accident, position, shift type, and experience of patient safety education explained 46.0% of the variance for patient safety management activities. Conclusion: It is identified that patient safety management could be enhanced by improving awareness of the healthcare accreditation system.
