청대 전기 ‘北京 수도권’의 형성과 재편 = From Jingshi to Zhili : New Insights on the Administrative Restructuring of Qing Beijing, 1644 to 1763

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study analyzes the management of the Qing Dynasty's capital and its administrative restructuring after the Manchus relocated to Beijing. The objective of this study is to identify the distinctive characteristics of the Qing Dynasty that set it apart from other Chinese dynasties in a concrete and empirical manner. Specifically, this study focuses on the name changes and jurisdictional shifts of administrative units, which are considered the most distinctive differences between the Ming capital of Beijing and the Qing capital of Beijing. The study explores the process of institutional transition within the historical context of the period.
The formation and restructuring of the ‘Beijing capital region’ involved numerous trials and experiments by the Manchus over more than a hundred years, reaching until the mid-18th century during the Qianlong reign. The changes in the birth and evolution of the early Qing ‘Beijing capital region’ were closely linked to the intentions of the Manchu emperors. This evolution was ultimately the result of choices and focuses made by, for, and of the Manchus.
