In this respect, the role of temple should not be grasped from only one view of history. They should be studied on the multi-view of the each era of history. Also, Research on the readers of foundation and the purpose of foundation would be considered and linked the situation at that time. Although most of the temples in the Shilla were generally located in the Gyeong-ju, some of the temples were built in provincial regions. This article research the background of the dansoksa[斷俗寺] foundation and its transformation Process with the times and find a similar case of the purpose and transformation Process of the oter temples in the Shilla. The dasoksa[斷俗寺] is located in the major transportation point which is connection with Hamyang, Hadong, Jinjoo and Hapchun at the tip of the eastern inley. According to the Shinchoong-gaegwan[信忠掛冠]: phi-eun[避隱] of the Samkookyousa-5(The Heritage of the Three States) [三國遺事], Shichoog[信忠], the Buddhist priest in the Shilla, had founded the dansoksa[斷俗寺]. The foundation of the temple of dansoksa[斷俗寺] was not only to pray for the king Kyungduk`s welfare in his future life, but also played a functional role to prevent weaken the power of centralized authoritarian in Gyeong-ju, situated at the southern extremity of the unified Shilla. These cause, the dansoksa[斷俗寺] was recognized as the great temple from the King Teajo of the Goryeo Kingdom. And in the early period of the Joseon Kingdom, the dansoksa[斷俗寺] could be retained as the temple of the Zen sect[禪宗寺院]. In the period of resistance to the Mongol, dansoksa [斷俗寺] became a strategic location for the politics and the thought-group of the Goryeo. It is considered that the dansoksa[斷俗寺] was one of the prearranged place to keep the “Daejanggyung [大藏經]” which were published to defeat an invasion of the Mongol. Thedansoksa[斷俗寺] was not only the center of religious beliefs of Buddhism, but also played an important part of role in the ruling civic at the region. The role and function of the temple, performed both as positive and negativeroles, was closely related with the group of the Buddhist community and the local residents who associate to the political and social situation of the time. From After the Shilla Kingdom to the Joseon, Dansoksa[斷俗寺]was a big part of the community. Especially, In spite of the Joseon served an ideology of neo-Confucianism, They could not deny the dansoksa[斷俗寺]`s collective power for the people. That is to say, although the ruler of Joseon kingdom devoted to preach the neo-Confucianism to the people, but the people had remained the Buddhist thought and the religious life. From the Joseon to the present, the Buddhist civilization shows a continuous livening up which insistently dominated our way of thinking and life. And that means, we could say that the dansoksa[斷俗寺] and the split which melt into the temple still alive in our mind.
