The purpose of this study is to investigate Korean fathers" requests to their young children"s self-regulatory behaviors. 170 fathers participate in this survey who have two to five-year old preschool child. They are asked to complete a questionnaire on the degree of the requests for their preschool children"s behaviors. Results are as follows: (1) they tend to make high requests for their children"s self-regulatory behaviors related to manners, safety and independence, on the other hand, they make low ones for personal property and family routines related self-regulation, (2) their requests are high when their children is 3 and 5-year old, (3) the request pattern of the Korean fathers does not change at any children" ages, except academic skills and attitude related self-regulation, and (4) the requests seem to be higher as the fathers" educational backgrounds are lower, and the fathers are younger.
