구비문학과 구비철학 = Oral Literature and Oral Philosophy

Oral Literature and Oral PhilosophyCho, Dong Il(Keimyung University)Oral literature an be understood as oral philosophy. Oral philosophy appeared in advance of written philosophy and has played an important role alongside written philosophy. Referring to what has already been achieved in Africa, Polynesia, and some minorities of China, now it is time to study Korean oral philosophy in depth.How this world was created? What is the distinction between the distinguished and the mediocre, the clever and the stupid? Is mankind morally superior to animals? Why must the exalted mind be expressed in performance? These fundamental questions are discussed seriously in the various genres of oral literature, shaman songs, folk narrative, and folk drama. Oral philosophy contributes much in improving philosophical studies. As in the case of literature, the history of philosophy is also the history of the relationship between oral philosophy and written philosophy. The tradition of oral philosophy must actively utilized to create a new philosophy.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

구비문학은 구비철학으로 이해될 수 있다. 구비철학은 기록철학보다 먼저 이루어지고, 기록철학과 함께 중요한 구실을 해왔다. 아프리카, 폴리네시아, 중국 소수민족 등에서 이루어진 선행 업적을 참고로 삼아, 한국의 구비철학 대한 깊은 연구를 시작하는 것이 마땅하다. 이 세상은 어떻게 이루어졌는가? 잘나고 못난 것, 슬기롭고 멍청한 것의 차이는 무엇인가? 사람은 짐승보다 윤리에서 우월한가? 왜 신명은 놀이로 풀어야 하는가? 이런 철학적인 문제를 구비문학의 여러 갈래, 무가, 설화, 탈춤 등에서 심각하게 다루었다. 구비철학은 철학 연구의 발전에 적극 기여한다. 문학사의 경우와 마찬가지로, 철학사 또한 구비철학과 기록철학의 관계사이다. 새로운 철학을 창조하려면 구비철학의 전통을 적극 활용해야 한다.
