이성과 감성의 조화를 통한 추상적 표현연구 : 작품제작을 중심으로 = (A) Study on the Abstract expression through the Harmony of Reason and Emotion : On the basis of making work

국문 초록 (Abstract)

현대 미술은 대상의 피상적인 재현에서 벗어나 작가의 조형이념에 따른 독창적인 조형세계를 추구하는 경향이 두드러지게 나타나고 있다.
이러한 양상은 현대 추상미술의 기초를 마련한 인상주의 세잔느(Ce´zanne)에서부터 출발하여 1,2차 세계대전을 거치면서 다양하게 전개되었으며 두 가지의 커다란 경향을 보이고 있다.
즉 몬드리안(Piet Mondrian)으로 대표되는 차가운 이지적 성향의 기하학적 추상미술이 그 하나이며, 내적 감성 표현을 강조한 뜨거운 추상미술이 다른 하나인 것이다.
이와같은 미술의 흐름 속에서 본 연구자는 기하학적 추상미술가들이 대상을 복잡한 설명없이 순수한 조형요소로 표현하려고 하였던 입장에서, 대상의 본질 표현을 추구하면서 염색만의 세계에서 가능한 부드러운 터치에 의한 감성적인 요소를 결합시켜 염색예술에 있어서 새로운 표현 가능성을 모색하는데 연구 목적이 있다.
이를 위한 이론적 배경에서는 미술사에 나타난 대상의 본질표현과 기하학적 추상미술에 대하여 고찰해 보았고, 이러한 이론을 토대로 작품제작과 이의 분석을 통해 얻은 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다.
첫째, 대상의 구체적인 형태를 본질적이고 원초적인 선이나 면으로 압축하는 과정에서 얻어진 가장 단순화된 기하학적 형태는 대상의 본질을 표현하는데 적절한 조형 언어임을 알 수 있었다.
둘째, 염료가 섬유에 번지는 특성을 이용한 붓터치에 의한 묘염 기법은 기하학적인 형태가 주는 경직된 느낌을 순화시킬 수 있는 효과적인 표현기법일 뿐만 아니라 독창적일 수 있는 표현 가능성을 제시해 주었다.
셋째, 엄격한 기하학적 형태와 부드럽고 서정적인 요소의 만남은 새로운 조화와 질서를 창출해낼 수 있었다.
이와같은 결론을 토대로 염색예술은 계속적인 연구와 노력을 통하여 보다 차원높은 조형세계를 창조해 나갈 수 있을 것이다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Modern Art has broken from the superficial revival and became to have an outstanding trend to seek for the creative world of that art according to it's concept by the artists.
This inclination came from the impressionist, Ce´zanne, who had set up the base of Modern Abstract Art, has been developed in variety and divided into two parts through World War Ⅰ＆Ⅱ.
The one is Geometrical Abstract Art, which is represented by Piet Mondrian and characterized in the cool, intellectual inclination. The other is Emotoinal Abstract Art, which emphasizes on 'the inner inevitability.'
In the stream like this, I looked for the expression of object essence in the place that the Geometrical Abstract artists had tried to describe the object in terms of the pure formative element without a complicated explanation and, in addition to that, combined the emotional element by soft brush touch able in Dyeing Art, studying the ability of new expression in Dyeing Art.
For the theoretical background, I reviewed the essential expression of the objects appeared in Art History and Geometrical Abstract Art and have made 8 works. From the analysis, I have got some consequences.
Firstly, I could find out the fact that the simplest geometrical form obtained in the Process of simplizing the concept types of the objects by the essential, primary lines or facets is the appro priate formative code in expressing the object essence.
Secondly, the technique, Which features in fling on a fiber by the brush touch, not only crystalizes the stiffened feeling of the geometrical form but also represents the possibility of originality in expression.
Thirdly, the combination of the rigid geometrical form with the mild emotional element produces new harmony and order.
Based on the results like these, Dyeing Art will be able to create the world of expression at the higher level than ever through continous studying and efforts.
