This study aims to provide preliminary data for refined and effective management of high school Taekwondo team by understanding internal characteristics to educe high school Taekwondo players` team commitment through investigation on the influence of Taekwondo instructor`s coaching leadership on the player`s mentoring and team commitment and influence of player`s memtoring on the team commitment. Targeting players of 15 high school teams participated in the Jeju Peace National Taekwondo Championship 2012, this study collected and used 187 players data using convenience sampling. For data processing, this study conducted frequency analysis, factor analysis, correlation analysis and regression analysis using SPSS 18.0. Results of study based on the above research method and analysis of data are as follows. First, this study revealed that sub-factors of coaching leadership such as guidance of direction, development, performance assessment and relations turned out to have a statistically significant influence on the career-related function and sub-factors of coaching leadership such as guidance of direction, development and performance assessment have a statistically significant impact on the role model function. Second, sub-factors of coaching leadership such as guidance of direction and development turned out to have a statistically significant influence on the team commitment. Third, there was a significant difference in the role model function, sub-factor of mentoring. Based on the above conclusions, Taekwondo instructor`s coaching leadership is an essential leadership for Taekwondo players and should be able to strengthen player`s mentoring through coaching leadership that is placing emphasis on the mutual exchange and instructor is required to make every effort to make the degree of team commitment higher through various contacts with high school Taekwondo players.
