초등학생의 가치 논제 글쓰기 양상 분석— 필수 쟁점을 중심으로 = An Analysis of Elementary Students’ Writing on Value Issues — Focusing on Essential Components

국문 초록 (Abstract)

초등학생을 대상으로 한 가치 논제 논증에 대한 실증적 연구는 매우 희소하다. 이에 본고는 필수 쟁점을 분석 틀로 설정하여 논제 해석, 가치 기준 설정, 가치 적용이 실제 초등 학습자들의 글에서 어떻게 구현되었는지 살펴보았다. 분석 결과, 논제 해석 단계에서는 평가 대상에 대한 정의 부재, 평가 대상과 평가 용어의 변경으로 인한 논제 전환, 부정형 치환으로 인한 논제의 논리 구조 변경이 나타났다. 가치 기준 설정 단계에서는 순환 논증이나 가치 적용 대체로 인한 가치 기준의 생략, 비슷한 가치 기준들의 중복 제시, 가치 기준 정당화 미흡 양상이 발견되었다. 가치 적용 단계에서는 가치 적용 생략, 가치 적용의 보편성 부족의 양상이 나타났다. 본 연구의 결과는 초등학생을 위한 가치 논제 논증 교육의 체계적인 내용과 방법을 마련하기 위한 기초 자료로 활용할 수 있다.

This study examines elementary students’ value-issue writing, with a focus on three essential components: theme interpretation, value criteria setting, and value application. During the issue interpretation stage, failure to define the object of evaluation, shifting the issue owing to changes in the object or evaluative terms, and distortion of the logical structure of the issue were observed. During the value criteria-setting stage, omission of value criteria resulting from circular reasoning or substitution with value application, repeating similar value criteria, and omission of the justification of value criteria were observed. During the value-application stage, omissions of value applications and a lack of shared or commonly accepted reasoning were identified. These results serve as the foundation for developing systematic content and instructional approaches for value-issue argumentation education in elementary school.
