The purpose of this study was to assess young children`s performance depending upon different media type in the preschool computer activity. The subjects were one hundred ninety two 3-5 year old children enrolled at W Kindergarten located in Teajun, Korea. Media types of computer activity were CD-ROM, CD-I, and Internet. Research questions were as follows: 1. What is the effect of media on result assessment in the preschool computer activity? 2. What is the effect of media on process assessment in the preschool computer activity? 3. What is the effect of media on instruction improvement assessment in the preschool computer activity? Accordingly, this study tested the main effects of three different types of media(CD-ROM, CD-I, and Internet) in instruction activity. The collected data were analyzed by using ANOVA measure. The main effect analysis of Performance point(in result assessment, process assessment, instruction improvement assessment) by using ANOVA showed a statistically significant difference between the 3 between-groups. And Field note and auto-telegraph material complemented findings. The findings are as follows: 1. CD-ROM increased young children`s performance in result assessment. 2. CD-ROM increased young children`s performance in process assessment. 3. CD-ROM and Internet increased young children`s performance in instruction improvement assessment.
