민화의 상징성과 조형적 특징을 토대로 현대회화 연구 = A Study on Contemporary Painting based on the Symbols and Formative Characteristics of Folk Painting

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 전통 민화를 중심으로 우리 민족 특유의 풍류, 삶과 신앙을 담고 있는 전통민화가 현대 미술로 재해석되는 과정에서 작품의 상징성, 조형성에 미친 영향을 연구하고자 한다.
민화는 우리 민족의 생활감정과 생활철학이 미의식의 일상 공간과 의례 공간을 회화형식의 장식적 그림으로 대중화된 그림이라고 볼 수 있다. 민화는 전통 회화에 비해 비관념적이며 독창적으로 자유로운 화면의 구성, 장식 등 여러 나라의 회화와 구별되고 한국성을 보여주는 미술이다.
이러한 민화는 해학성, 소박성, 화려한 색채감각과 독특한 조형성, 상징성은 환상적으로 잘 나타내고 있으며, 전통 민화를 기반으로 한 현대 미술을 접목하여 연구할 수 있었다. 민화의 이미지를 사용하여 본래의 상징성과 새로운 재해석으로 의미를 부여하였다. 본 연구 과정을 통하여 민화의 전통적 모티브와 상징성을 바탕으로 현대회화로의 발전 가능성과 계승을 모색하는 과정으로 민화 연구를 통해 현대회화의 적용에 관한 연구 가치성에 반영하였다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Focusing on traditional folk paintings, this study aims to study the impact of traditional folk paintings containing the unique customs, lives, and beliefs of our people on the symbolism and formability of works in the process of reinterpreting them as contemporary art.Folk Painting can be seen as a painting in which the daily and ritual spaces of aesthetic consciousness are popularized as decorative paintings in the form of paintings. Folk Painting is more pessimistic than traditional paintings and is an art that shows Korean character and distinguishes itself from paintings in many countries, such as the composition and decoration of a screen that is free of originality.These folk paintings are fantastically well represented by humor, simplicity, a colorful sense of color, unique formality, and symbolism, and were able to be studied by combining contemporary art based on traditional folk paintings. Using the image of folk paintings, meaning was given with the original symbolism and new reinterpretation. Through this research process, the process of seeking the possibility and succession to a modern painting based on the traditional motif and symbolism of folk paintings was reflected in the value of research on the application of modern painting through folk painting research.
