The purpose of this study was to analyze research trends related to vulnerable young children published in South Korea by using Keyword network analysis. A total of 234 domestic academic journal articles were examined to identify the frequency and network structure of major key words. The analysis revealed that “multi-cultural family,” “language skills,” “social skills,” and “mothers” emerged as core keywords with high degree centrality, closeness centrality, and betweenness centrality in the keyword network structure. In addition, research in this area was most active between 2010 and 2016 and has declined since 2019. These findings highlight the need for continuous and diverse research approaches that respond to social changes in order to reduce developmental and educational gaps for vulnerable young children, as well as the need for corresponding evidence-based support policies.
