미국 청소년의 문제성 음주에 대한 심리사회적 보호변인과 위험변인의 역할 - 보호변인의 보상효과와 완충효과를 중심으로 -

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 미국 청소년들의 문제성 음주에 대한 심리사회적 보호변인들과 위험변인들의 영향력을 확인하고, 이들 중 보호변인들의 역할을 보다 구체적으로 검토하기 위해서 개별 보호변인의 보상효과와 완충효과를 분석하였다. 연구 자료는 The Monitoring the Future 2002 연구의 10학년 4,362명의 사례를 활용하였으며, 자료 분석방법으로는 위계회귀분석이 사용되었다. 분석결과는 친구의 영향력, 감각추구성향, 일탈행동경험이 문제성 음주에 대해 유의미한 위험변인으로 기능함을 보여주었다. 보호<br/>
변인의 경우에는 음주결과에 대한 부정적 기대, 부모와의 유대, 학교에 대한 유대, 친사회적 활동이 직접적으로 문제성 음주의 감소에 영향을 주는 보상효과를 나타냈다. 또한 음주결과에 대한 부정적 기대는 친구의 영향력을 완화시켜 문제성 음주를 감소시키는 유의미한 완충효과를 가지고 있었다. 본 연구는 이러한 결과를 바탕으로 문제성 음주에 대한 예방적 개입을 위한 실천적 방안을 제시하였다.

The purpose of this study was to examine the impact of psychosocial protective and risk factors on problem drinking among American adolescents. In addition, this study investigated the compensatory and buffering effects of psychosoical protective factors. The sample consisted 4,362 10th graders taken from the Monitoring the<br/>
Future Study 2002. This study performed the hierarchical regression analysis for data analyses. The main findings provided that friend influence, sensation-seeking, and tolerance of deviance had significant positive relationships with problem drinking as<br/>
risk factors. This study also revealed that negative perception on drinking, parental bonding, school bonding, and prosocial activity had significant direct impacts in decreasing problem drinking, which explains the compensatory effect of protective <br/>
factors. Additionally, this study showed that negative perception on drinking had a significant buffering effect moderating friend influence on adolescents' opportunities exposed to problem drinking. The results of this study suggest some practical<br/>
implications for preventive intervention programs that target adolescent problem drinking.
