스포츠경영학의 연구동향 비교분석: 한국스포츠산업경영학회지와 북미스포츠경영학회지를 중심으로 = A Comparative Study of Sport Management Research Trends: Focused on KJSM and JSM

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 스포츠경영학 연구동향을 분석하는데 있어 스포츠경영학의 선진국인 북미스포츠경영학회의 JSM과 한국스포츠산업 경영학회의 KJSM에 대한 비교 분석을 통해 국내외 스포츠경영학의 연구동향을 파악하고 스포츠경영학 연구의 질적 제고 방안을 제시하기 위해 수행되었다. 이를 위해 본 연구에서는 2004년부터 2012년까지 9년간 발행된 KJSM 360편 및 JSM 241편등 총 601편의 연구논문을 내용분석(content analysis) 기법을 통해 분석하였다. 내용분석의 범주는 연구영역, 연구내용 그리고 연구방법으로 한정하였으며 교차분석을 통해 자료를 분석하였다. 그 결과 다음과 같은 결론을 도출하였다. 첫째, 스포츠경영학 연구가 현장적으로 기여할 수 있는 연구영역의 확대가 지속적으로 이루어질 필요가 있다. 특히 스포츠용품, 스포츠서비스 그리고 스포츠시설업 등의 형태로 존재하는 다양한 스포츠경영 현장을 균형적으로 다룰 수 있는 연구영역의 다양화가 이루어져야 한다. 둘째, 스포츠마케팅을 포함한 특정 연구내용 중심의 스포츠경영학 연구의 전략적 변화를 통해서 스포츠경영학의 이론체계 구축과 학문의 정체성 확보를 위한 부단한 노력이 필요하다. 이를 위해서는 관련 학회에서 스포츠경영학의 핵심 이론 및 지식체계를 주기적으로 다룰 수 있는 방안을 마련해 스포츠경영학 연구자의 관심과 노력을 독려할 수 있는 체계를 구축해야 한다. 마지막으로 스포츠경영학 연구방법의 다각화를 통해 스포츠경영학 연구결과에 대한 타당성을 증진시키는 지속적인 노력이 필요하다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purposes of study were to analyze sport management research trends including research field, content and method by comparing Korean Journal of Sport Management(KJSM) and Journal of Sport Management(JSM) and thus to provide future research directions for better sport management research. In order to accomplish such purposes, this study employed content analysis method using 601 research articles published from 2004 and 2012. Content analysis categories such as field, content and method were formulated by reviewing previous studies, and each article from KJSM and JSM was coded by 2 sport management scholars. The collected data were analyzed using Chi square tests at a=.05 and as a result, findings validated the previous studies that reported problems in sport management research. Thus, current study attempts to provide following recommendations. First, research fields of study should be expanded to better serve practitioners including sport equipment, sport service and sport facility sectors. Second, currently overemphasized research contents such as marketing should be strategically changed to better build theoretical framework and academic identity. Finally, research methods should be diversified to increase validity of sport management findings by more applying integrated research methods such as qualitative research method in the field of sport management.
