공급자 개발 프로그램의 성과와 의사소통의 역할 = The Performance of Supplier Development Program and Role of Communication: A Supplier Perspective

국문 초록 (Abstract)

공급자 개발 프로그램은 개별 기업뿐만 아니라 공급사슬의 경쟁력을 향상시키기 위한 중요한 전략이다. 본 연구는 공급자 개발 프로그램의 공급자 성과에 대한 영향과 의사소통의 조절효과를 검증한다. 이를 위해 국내 428개 중소 제조업체에 대한 설문조사를 수행하였고 관련 가설을 검증하기 위해 계층적 회귀 모형을 적용하였다. 분석 결과는 공급자의 인식 관점에서 일부 프로그램(인적자원 지원, 공급자 보상과 인정, 정보/목표/가치의 공유)만이 공급자 성과에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타나 중소 규모의 공급자들은 선택적으로 이들을 적용하는 것이 바람직할 것이라는 것을 암시한다. 또한 인적자원과 물적자원 지원과 같은 직접 투자의 관점에서 의사소통의 적극적인 활용이 공급자의 성과를 강화시키는 것을 밝혀냈다. 본 연구는 중소 제조업체를 위한 효과적인 공급자 개발 프로그램과 의사소통의 역할에 대한 중요한 통찰력을 제공해 준다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Suppler Development Programs(SDPs) is a crucial strategy for improving competitiveness of a supply chain as well as individual firms. This paper examines the impact of SDPs on supplier performance and also a moderating effect of communication. To do so, we conducted a survey of 428 small and medium manufacturing companies in Korea, and applied hierarchical regression modeling to prove relevant hypothesis. The results imply that it is desirable for small and medium suppliers to selectively apply SDPs, because only a few programs(human resource support, supplier reward and recognition, share of information/goal/value) have impact on supplier performance from the perspective of supplier perception. In addition, we found that active utilization of communication reinforces supplier's performance in terms of direct investment such as human resource and physical resource support. This study provides significant insights into effective SDPs and the role of communication for small and medium manufacturing companies.
