한국전쟁 피난민의 이주와 정착(2) - 서해안지역, 군산과 김제 용지농원의 황해도 사람들 - = The Migration and Settlement of North Korea Refugees during the Korean War(2) - the West Coast, Gunsan and Gimje Yongji Farm -

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

In this year of 2020 when 70 years have passed since the outbreak of the Korean War, the area of interest has been expanded with various topics. In particular, these days, we listen to the voice of the people who have directly experienced the War and narrow down our interest from national or ethical level to local communities of village units and individuals. This is because we may more broadly understand the relationships between individuals, local communities and the war and history through deep introspection (self-examination) of individuals and local communities which have existed behind the war and history.
Through this work, various buried stories are newly examined and the war and its effect are clearly discovered. In particular, the effect on local communities of refugees is one of the topics. The refugees had considerably influenced the society, culture, politics and economy of Korean modern history and it is in the spotlight because the refugees a kind of national movement and is rare in history. Because it is a topic from the perspective of future integration as well as the history of nation and local communities.
Of course, there have been a lot of studies on the refugees of the Korean War. However, there are not so many studies on accurate identification of the number of those refugees and local communities along with establishment of overview; especially if it is limited to the west coast region.
Accordingly, this study seeks to pay attention to the migration and settlement of the refugees of the Korean War by focusing on tracing the lives of people in Kunsan, a famous harbor city and people of Yongji Farm who migrated from Hwanghae-do Province to Kimje via Kunsan.
For this topic, this study refers to the interviews of refugees defect from North Korea in Kunsan region which were made from the spring to the fall of 2016 and also uses the field tour and interviews conducted from 2016 to the winter of 2019 in terms of Yongji Farm in Kimje. It is expected that the precious stories of the people who took a certain role in development of local community will not be neglected by the wheel of history but will be proudly introduced and take their place in history.
