시민서비스의 사회적 효과에 대한 영향관계 비교분석: 한국과 미국의 시민서비스 참가자들의 조직활동성을 중심으로 = Civic Service in South Korea and the United States: A Comparative Study of the Role of Servicer’s and Service’s Attributes in Group Involvement

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This research empirically compared and analyzed the influential relationship involving social effectiveness which civic service has, using cases in South Korea and the United States. The study established a research model based on the previous studies, extracted similar variables from the sample of each country, and then verified the influential relationship which the model assumes,using path analysis. The model presumed that the servicer’s and service’s attributes have an influence on the servicer’s satisfaction as well as group involvement, and a chance of reflection moderates the relationships among them. The results are as follows. First, public service motivation constituting servicer’s attributes had major positive effects on the dependent variables in both countries. Second, where incomplete spontaneity was concerned, two countries showed different results. While the variable stood out as being important in the case of South Korea, that variable did not affect the social capital in the United States. Third, servicer’s satisfaction had the mediating effect in the Korean case. On the contrary, the case of the U.S. did not indicate that effect. The implications of these results were suggested in a conclusion.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

이 연구는 한국과 미국의 사례를 가지고 시민서비스의 사회적 효과의 한 단면인 조직활동성에 대한 영향관계를 경험적으로 비교･분석하였다. 선행연구를 토대로 연구모형을 수립했으며, 두 나라의 기존 데이터에서 유사한 변수들을추출한 다음, 경로분석을 통해서 연구모형이 가정하는 영향관계를 검증하였다. 연구모형은 봉사자 속성과 서비스 속성이 봉사자 만족도와 조직활동성에 영향을 미치며, 서비스 과정에서의 경험적 특질과 관련되는 성찰가능성이 이들관계를 조절한다고 보았다. 분석결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 두 나라 모두에서 봉사자 속성을 구성하는 공공서비스 동기가 종속변수들에 긍정적인 효과를 갖는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 불완전 자발성과 관련해 두 나라가 다른 결과를 나타냈다. 한국에서는 불완전 자발성이 중요한 변수로 나타났지만, 미국에서는 유의미한 효과가 나타나지 않았다. 셋째,한국의 사례에서는 봉사자 만족도가 매개효과를 갖는 것으로 나타난 반면, 미국의 사례에서는 매개효과가 나타나지않았다. 넷째, 독립변수와 종속변수들 간 관계에서 성찰가능성은 조절효과가 없는 것으로 나타났다. 결론에서는 이러한 분석결과가 가지는 의미에 대해 제시하였다.
