      The purpose of study in this thesis was approached from the poetic conscionsness senses that appears in his poesm revolving around the motif of native home which shows up in the poet Lee long-ak. And this study attemped to claim the semiotics as a methodology of study.
      Seeking to reconstruct on the web of meaning of 'culture fance', his poetry be began to composing a poem under the rule of Japannese imperialism, and he preponderantly developed the conversion from self-consciousness to social consciousness in the first collected poems of "Bun-su-ryoung , the tragedy of fatherland that was falling into dilapidation on the colonial era in the 2nd collected poems of "nark-keun-gip", and the tragedy of wrethched who were expelled from their desolate motheland in the 3rd collected poems.
      this poetic sense of his has lasted in the space of emancipation from Japanese rule, and then this popular conscionsness in his poetry in rooted in indigenous popular consciousness, not the influence of maxism which was overwelming at the time.
