시소러스의 용어 일관성을 위한 정의의 적용에 관한 연구 = A Study on Application of Definitions for a Terminological Consistency of Thesaurus

국문 초록 (Abstract)

시소러스는 주제분야의 지식구조에서 사용되는 용어의 개념과 용어간의 의미관계를 분명히 기술하고 체계화한 어휘통제도구로서, 색인작성시 개념의 의미를 확인하고 개념을 나타내는 용어간에 존재하는 관계를 확인하여 디스크립터를 결정하고, 검색시 검색어를 선정하는데 사용한다. 그러나 시소러스에 수록되는 용어의 수가 증가함에 따라 그 의미의 확인과 관계구조의 설정이 어려운 실정이므로, 시소러스에 수록되어야 할 용어의 선정기준과 선정된 용어의 범위를 확립하여 의미구조를 표현하는 기법이 필요하다. 이를 위해 시소러스의 용어가 지닌 본질적인 속성을 제시하고 용어의 일관성을 유지하기 위한 수단으로 용어에 대한 표준화된 정의의 적용이 필요하다.
이 연구에서는 정보검색시스템에서 사용하는 용어의 일관성을 유지하기 위해 용어가 지닌 개념의 본질적 속성을 데이터요소로 하는 정의모델을 기초로 정의를 표준화하고, 정의에 사용된 용어의 속성과 관계구조를 시소러스에 포함하기 위한 방법적인 모색을 수행하였다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The thesaurus has been a vocabulary control tool which clearly describes the concept of terms and the semantic relation between the terms used in the knowledge area, and crucial functions of it are those of clarifying a meaning, revealing the relationship that exists between a concept and its expression, determining a descriptor, and selecting a keyword in the controlled language of an information system. However, as thesauri have been becoming large and complex, it is more difficult to assess the intended meaning of each term. Thereby the concept of many descriptors seems to be very similar, and it is often not possible to distinguish them and to identify the term correctly.
The purpose of the article is to standardize definitions of descriptor on th basis of definition model having data elements for consistency of the term, and to investigate methods to contain feature and relation structure of the term using in definitions
