The study presented in this thesis is concerned mainly with a search for evidence that the environmental noises such as road traffic, aircraft and railway have impacts on people's attitudes and opinions with a view to developing an evaluation model of environmental noise impacts in urban residential areas.
With a sample of 646 repondents living in three different residential areas exposed to the noise sources, a fieldsurvey has been made to measure the noise levels and non-physical evaluative criteria.
