아리스토텔레스의 {니코마코스 윤리학} 번역 및 주석 그리고 해석 논문들

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Our project consists of three parts: translation, footnotes and interpretative essays.
The first part aims at translating the whole of Nicomachean Ethics, made up of ten books. We have tuned the linguistic level of our translation at a middle point between the literal translation and the free translation, which should reach readability to the highest degree. Our twofold aim to make the translation both faithful to the greek original sentences to the utmost and readable has forced us to look for an equilibrium point between the literal and the free translation.
The second part of the project is to produce footnotes. Our footnotes play the role of explicating or explaining linguistic or textual difficulties in reading such as unfamiliar concepts and word-combinations, demanded background knowledge, arguments whose structure and meaning is troublesome to grasp, etc.
The third part, consisting of interpretative essays, will help the readers to have a comprehensive and introductory understanding of Aristotle's philosophy and ethics. The first essay is concerning Aristotle's life, works and his influence, the second concerning the background of Nicomachean Ethics and the third concerning the structure of Nicomachean Ethics.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 과제는 세 부분(번역, 주석, 해석논문들)으로 구성된다.
첫 번째 부분, 즉 번역 작업의 대상은 {니코마코스윤리학} 전체(총10권)이다.
번역의 언어적 수준은 한편으로는 문자적 번역과 다른 한편으로는 가독성을 최대한 살린 자연스러운 의역 사이의 중간 수준이 되게끔 했다. 그리스 원어 문장의 어감과 의미에 최대한 충실하자는 목적과 그러면서도 가독성을 해치지 않는 번역을 산출하자는 목적을 동시에 충족시키기 위해서는 문자적 번역과 의역 사이의 적절한 균형점을 찾아야했고 이 지점에 번역 언어 수준을 맞추고자했다.
과제의 두 번째 부분, 즉 주석 작업은 주로 텍스트 독해를 어렵게 만드는 장애요인들-낯선 개념 및 단어조합, 요구되는 배경지식, 대의를 파악하기 힘든 논증구조 등-을 해명하거나 설명하는데 할애되었다.
과제의 세 번째 부분, 즉 해석논문들(Interpretative Essays)은 아리스토텔레스의 윤리학 및 철학에 대한 전반적 이해를 도모하는 개괄적 성격의 에세이들이다. 이 부분은

둘째, {니코마코스윤리학}의 배경,
셋째, {니코마코스윤리학}의 구조
에 관한 에세이로 구성된다.
