원불교 사회복지의 시원(始原)에 관한 연구

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study stems from the assumption that the root of the growth and development of Won-Buddhists’social welfare originates from the early era of Won-Buddhism which runs 20 institutions through 15 social welfare foundations currently.
Sotaesan, the founder of Won-Buddhism achieved the great enlightenment in the Japanese colonial times. After the enlightenment he succeeded in the reclamation through the savings union. The idea of independency, self-help, benevolence which made the great project possible became a basis of Won-Buddhism’s social welfare policy
The purpose of this study is to investigate the origin of Won-Buddhism’s social welfare policy through deductive reasoning.
Doctrine of Won-Buddhism usually surfaces through the deeds. However, the most of the religious deeds or ideas weren’t able to be feasible due to the subjective and objective effects of the colonial times.
Therefore, the origin of the Won-Buddhism’s social welfare focused on the relationship between the objective environment of the times and subjective result that is of organization.
The beginning era of Won-Buddhism’s social welfare was limited to relief and self-help though, the basis of eradication, education and relief was established through the education for integration of organization and preparation for the new era. These competences have been accumulated that finally established current status of Won-Buddhism’s social policy.
