미국의 교사수습제 운영실태 동향 분석 = An Analysis on the Current Status of Probationary Teacher System in the U.S.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

교육의 질 제고를 위한 교원의 전문성 개발 및 정책적 노력은 어느 시대를 막론하고 핵심과제로 대두되어 왔다. 특히, 4차 산업혁명시대를 맞이하여 교원의 핵심역량에 대한 강조 및 학생발달 특성에 대응되는 교원의 전문성 역량 중요성은 여전히 강조되고 있다. 무엇보다, 교원양성기관의 교육과정은 빠르게 변화하는 학교현장 맥락에 대응되기에는 한계가 있기 때문에 예비교사들의 현장 적응력 향상을 위한 다양한 정책적 노력이 전개되고 있다. 우리나라는 교원양성기관의 예비교사들이 교 육실습 및 임용시험 등을 통해 학교 현장의 적응력을 키우고 있다. 하지만, 교육실습 및 임용시험의 여러 가지 제약으로 인하여 예비교원은 여전히 현장 적응력에 어려움을 경험하고 있다. 이와 같은 이유로 인한 현장적응력의 문제는 비단 우리나라에 국한된 것은 아니다. 그 동안 주요국에서는 교원전문역량 강화 차원에서 교사수습제를 도입하고 다양한 형태로 운영해 왔다. 본 연구는 교사수습제 운영의 대표적인 국가인 미국의 운영사례(텍사주 주와 메릴랜드 몽고메리교육청)를 기반으로 한국교원교육정책 분야, 특히 교사수습제의 시사점을 도출하는데 연구의 목적이 있다. 이 논문에서는 미국의 교사수습제 운영 실태와 문제점을 통하여 주요 특징과 시사점을 도출하였다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Teachers efforts to develop expertise to improve the quality of education have become a key task for any country. In particular, the importance of developing teachers professional skills in response to the characteristics of student development is emphasized, along with the change of core capabilities of teachers in the era of the fourth industrial revolution. Policy efforts are being made to improve teachers ability to adapt to the field as the curriculum of teachers training institutions is inconsistent with the school site. Currently, prospective teachers at teacher training institutes are enhancing the understanding of school sites through educational practices and recruitment tests, but they are experiencing difficulties in adapting themselves to the field due to various constraints of education practice and recruitment tests. In a bid to strengthen teachers` professional skills, the introduction and operation of the system are being implemented in various forms in major countries. The purpose of the study is to draw up implications for Korea based on U.S.(Texas State and Maryland State Montgomery County) operating practices as a leading country in the operation of the probationary teacher system. In this study, a critical analysis was conducted on the current state of teacher training system operation in the U.S., problems, and key features and implications.
