    This article is devoted to the numerical studies of a new wavelet-based damage evaluation technique proposed by the same authors.The numerical investigations include a comparative study for a challenging damage scenario and a noise sensitivity for the variousmeasurement scenarios. The damage scenario include not only the change in local stiffness but also the changes in mass density,surounding forces, and foundation stiffness. It is seen that the proposed approach is capable of detecting, locating, and sizing damageon beam-like and plate-like structures without any priori information about mass density, surrounding forces, and foundationstiffness, etc. It is also observed that the accurate estimation of severity of damage requires a set of reliable mode shapes obtained via a large number of statistic modal tests with the conventional transducers.
