황석영 소설과 희곡의 장르교섭

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Hwa-Seokyeong was an author who practiced actively into the connections of novel and drama more than any of his counterparts. Considering the aspect of his being a novelist and a dramatist at the same time, we could look into the inter-textuality found in his novel and drama, and at the same time the dramatic elements of his novel. It may safely be said that the active connection between a drama and an epic is the special aspect of Hwang-Seokyeong`s literature. Although Hwang-Seokyeong`s novel tells us largely about the society from a third person`s perspective, a good many of his novels written in 1970s are dominated by the dramatic aspects rather than the epical aspects which shows the integrity of the object. Especially the complete view of verbal argument in first person as well as the limits set on the role of the narrator in third person provides a dramatic interpretation of his novel. Though having taken a biased outlook of a laborer or the common people on the world while conveying the words or doings of the characters, not the narrator, as well the development of situations like sorrow etc, he secured the concreteness and objectivity of his novel debarring it from being conceptualized. By such expressions of sense of reality and life, the in-depth aesthetic value was elevated.
