This study originated from the awareness that an integrative analysis based on the emotional perceptions and experiences of stakeholder groups is essential for effective regional community design.
The purpose of this study is to empirically analyze the perceptual differences among local residents, design experts, and administrative experts, focusing on the emotional evaluation factors of regional community design. Jeonju City was selected as the case study area, and surveys distinguishing importance and satisfaction were conducted. To examine differences among the groups, one-way analysis of variance(ANOVA) and Importance– Performance Analysis (IPA) were employed.
The findings are as follows. First, in the satisfaction analysis, a significant difference among groups appeared only for the factor of “diversity,” while other elements showed relatively similar perceptions across groups. This indicates that overall satisfaction levels did not differ greatly, but perceptions of diversity varied among stakeholder groups. Second, in the importance analysis, the factors of “diversity” and “publicness” displayed statistically significant differences across groups.
This suggests that the recognition and prioritization of values in regional community design are shaped by each group’s role and perspective.
Based on these research findings, it was identified that regional community design needs to evolve toward expanding participation among stakeholder groups, realizing public values, and embracing diversity. Furthermore, a practical strategic approach that reflects the perception structure is required. This study is significant in that it provides foundational data for establishing strategies for regional community design through a convergent approach centered on emotional evaluation.
