The change of the linguistic circumstances is different from previous situation in the aspects of the contents and the quality. The character and the object cannot help being affected by the change of the linguistic circumstances because the department of Chinese classics is also inseparably related to our speech lives. Consequently, we need to renew our view points now over the intent of the establishment of Chinese classics promulgated in 1972. Turning our recognition frame, the role in the cultural area of Chinese characters should be more focused than inheritance of classical culture. We need to emphasize not only the instrumental character of the department of Chinese classics in the curriculum of middle school and high school but the realistic meaning and economic utility in the cultural area of Chinese characters. Moreover, we need to question the roles of Chinese characters and Chinese classics corresponding to the discourse of the Far East and the problem how they are closely connected with the curriculum of Chinese classics in middle school and high school. We have flexibly created and enjoyed our culture with two codes - Chinese characters and Korean. We need to decide on new character and object through cultural diversity and property so that there can be abundant in cultural property which can make us cope with information age with the keyword - the culture. As a matter of fact, though the character and the object of the department of Chinese classics are well settled, if there is no political concern about the department of Chinese classics in The 8th Curriculum, it will be the reflection of the times but the conclusion against those. This is the time that we have formulate a plan of practical use of Chinese characters(Chinese classics) with Korean as the central figure and actively reflect it on the next curriculum for the sudden rise of the cultural area of Chinese characters in the Far East and the national competitive power corresponding to the information age.
