This study attempts to develop fundamental data about ``the awareness of staff members to their hotel``s eco-friendly attributes.`` Our research produced several findings we would like discuss: First of all, there were some difference in perceptions of environment attributes of eco-friendly hotel. Married staff had higher awareness of a hotel`s green attributes compared to unmarried staff members. Also, Older staff members were more aware than counterparts in their twenties. Secondly, there were also had some difference in environmentally responsible attributes. The marketing department and the food & beverage department had a higher level of awareness than the room maintenance department, management department, or facilities department. Also, relatively low position staff members had lower awareness compared to those in higher positions. Third, inclusion of conservation in training, temporary or permanent worker status, gender, and education level had little to no effect on the awareness of eco-friendly attributes. According to these results, we suggest the addition of marketing education to the conservation training already in place and the further development of our manual to reflect our commitment to being environmentally responsible. These efforts will contribute to our goal of satisfying our customers as well as bolstering long-term profits.
