초·중등 교육과정의 퇴계·율곡사상 내용 분석과 향후 교육과정 개선 방안 = Analysis of the Content of Toegye and Yulgok's Thoughts in Elementary and Secondary School Curricula and Future Curriculum Improvement Plans

국문 초록 (Abstract)

퇴계‧율곡사상에 대한 교육내용과 방법, 평가 모두 지난 30년 동안 변화된 바가 거의 없으며 퇴계‧율곡 사상을 교육하는 목적과 부합하지 않는 내용과 방법으로 교육과 평가가 이루어졌다. 퇴계‧율곡사상의 현대적 탐색과 적용은 미래세대에게 퇴계‧율곡사상을 어떻게 교육할 것인가에 달려 있으므로 국가 차원의 보편‧의무교육 안에 퇴계와 율곡 사상의 본령을 온전히 녹여내어 교육하는 것이 중요하다. 따라서 향후 교육과정 개정 시에 퇴계‧율곡사상을 기존의 이기론‧심성론 중심에서 수양론 경세론 중심으로 재편해야 하며 교과서 또한 이에 근거하여 집필되어야 하고, 토론식 수업, 논술형 평가, 수행평가 등 새로운 평가 방식을 적극 도입하여 퇴계‧율곡사상을 그 본의에 맞게 새롭게 교육해야 한다.

The educational content, teaching methods, and assessment of the thoughts of Toegye and Yulgok have remained largely unchanged over the past 30 years, and teaching and assessment have been conducted with content and methods that do not align with the ideals of their thought. The modern exploration and application of Toegye and Yulgok's thought hinges on how we educate future generations about their ideas. Therefore, it is crucial to fully reflect the essence of their thought within national universal and compulsory education. Therefore, future curriculum revisions should reorganize the thought of Toegye and Yulgok from its current focus on ontology and theories of human nature to a focus on self-cultivation and statecraft. Textbooks should also be written based on this shift. Furthermore, new assessment methods, such as discussion-based classes, essay-based assessments, and performance assessments, should be actively adopted to ensure that the thought of Toegye and Yulgok is taught in a way that reflects their true purpose.
