국내 대학교육의 질적 변화에 있어서 세계사회 담론의 영향력 = Influence of world-society discourses on changing the curricula of domestic universities and resulting in isomorphism

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 글에서는 세계사회에서 배태된(embedded) 담론과 세계적으로 표준화된 제도 확산의 관계에 주목해온 사회학적 제도주의에 기초하여, 국내 대학교육이 개별대학의 특수성을 반영하는 방향으로 이루어지고 있다기보다 세계사회에서 새롭게 제기된 사회상 및 교육상에 관련된 담론을 반영하는 방향으로 변화되어 왔을 가능성을 제기해 보고자 하였다. 본 연구를 위하여, 1990년대 국내 대학교육 변화에 영향을 미칠 수 있었던, 5.31교육개혁, 신교육정책, 대학교육관련법규, 대학교육협의회 평가준거, 개별대학 교육모델 준거등과 같은 조건들을 중심으로 세계사회 영향력을 구명해보고자 하였으며, 실제 국내 개별대학들의 교양교육목표가 어떻게 변화해 왔는지 조사해봄으로써 세계사회 담론이 대학교육에 반영되어 왔는지를 살펴보았다. 여기서 세계사회 담론의 영향력이란 전 세계적인 연결망의 중심에 있는 OECD나 UNESCO에서 1990년대 전후하여 논의되었던 고등교육관련 주제들, 국내사회에 바람직한 모델로 논의되고 있던 외국의 교육모델 및 교육이론 등이 국내 대학교육 준거에 영향을 미친 정도라 규정하였다. 본 연구 결과에 근거하면, 국내 대학교육의 질적 변화는 세계사회로부터 시작되고 있으며, 대학교육의 동형구조화는 외부사회에서의 교육관련 담론에 의하여 규제된 불가피한 현상일 수 있다.

Influence of world-society discourses on changing the curricula of domestic universities and resulting in isomorphism.Bu, Hyangsuk(Hanyang University)The purpose of this study is to discuss the influence of world- society discourses on changing the curricula of domestic universities and resulting in isomorphism. Based on the actor-centered and functionalistic perspective, it is generally taken for granted that curricula are enlarged and reconstructed to meet the specific necessities of students, universities and society. So, lately since the 1990s. it will is expected that various kinds of curricula are made on the specific conditions of the universities under the paradigm of education for 'diversification' and 'specialization'. But it cannot be explained why isomorphism has been found in spite of making the best models on the specific conditions. Therefore, this is studied to understand the source of phenomenon of isomorphism of domestic universities, on the presumption of the institutionalistic perspective in which most of institutions including the educational spheres is caused by the discourses from the world society by means of the system of legitimation for 'the rationalized others'. For this, the relationship of three variables including the OECD and UNESCO discourses concerning the higher education, a domestic New Education Policy of the period of 1995, and the curricula of domestic universities is verified.
