철학의 기능과 이념 -1980년대 이후의 한국 사회철학에 대한 반성- = The Function of Philosophy and the ideal of Philosophy -A Reflection on the Social Philosophy in Korea Since 1980`s-

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The main purpose of this paper is to examine the aspects and functions of social progressive philosophy in Korea since 1980`s and to try to present what efforts are needed for the new creative social philosophy in Korea. The social thoughts in Korea since 1980`s have reflected and followed the experiences in Korea, importing the corresponding western philosophies. It seems worthy to note that the main field of philosophical focus has changed in the pattern of <economics→politics→culture>. The thoughts in Korea have repeated the western experiences in contraction in such a similarity as the processes of industrialization and democratization have shown. Now social philosophy in Korea as well as in western world finds itself in a difficult situation where it cannot present a clear and persuasive social model. However, it is from the ideal that the philosophy gets its life, though it could not function as such in reality. Even the philosophy for post-ideality has its own ideal. We can observe in the contemporary relativism or deconstructionism the ideal orientation for a new which aims at the overcoming of limits of modernity. Recently, the thoughts of Gorgio Agamben, Jacques Derrida, and especially Walter Benjamin have come in the limelight in Korea. In addition to sharing this critical mind for the outside of modernity, this paper inquires the conditions for the autogenous philosophy in Korea.
