Scleredema is a rare collagen disorder clinically characterized by marked non-pitting induration of the skin. There are two types: the classic postinfectious type and that associated with diabetes mellitus. We present a case of scleredema developed on the nape, upper portion of the back and both shoulders in a 71-year-old male who has suffered from diabetes mellitus for the past 20 years.
