『상드-플로베르 서간집』에 나타난 두 작가의 문학세계 비교

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study aims to compare their literary worlds between Sand and Flaubert through their letter writings. The introduction examined the validity recognizing letter writings as a literary genre on the basis of various literary theories. Through their works and discourses dealt in their letter writings, the main body analysed their writing esthetics, reciprocal influences, and their views on the duty of arts and writers in a comparing way. After examining their various differentness or contrasts, the conclusion confirmed their unifying elements enabling their correspondence for a long time. Finally, all the discourses dealt in the main body could be included among three functions of letter writings, such as confessional writing, philosophical discussion, and meta-text synthetically.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

이 연구는 상드와 플로베르의 문학세계를, 특히 그들의 서간문을 통해 고찰하는 것이 목적이다. 서론에서는 여러 이론서를 토대로 서간문을 하나의 문학 장르로 인정할 수 있는가에 대해서 살펴보았다. 본론에서는, 편지 속 담론들과 편지에서 언급되고 있는 두 작가의 작품들에 대한 면밀한 분석을 통해 첫째, 두 작가의 작품 창작 미학을 비교하고 둘째, 문학적 측면에서의 상호적 영향을 확인해보고 마지막으로 문학․예술, 작가의 소명에 대한 두 작가의 견해를 비교해보았다. 우리는 이 연구에서 여러 측면에서의 두 작가의 상이함 혹은 대립의 양상을 분석한 후에 과연 오랜 세월동안 편지들을 주고받을 수 있게 해주었던 합일의 요소는 무엇이었는가를 결론에서 확인해보았다. 연구를 마무리하면서 우리는 본론에서 분석한 모든 편지속의 담론들이 서간문의 세 가지 기능들인 고백적 글쓰기 장의 기능, 철학적 토론의 장이라는 기능, 메타텍스트의 기능들 중 어떤 기능을 하는가를 종합적으로 정리해보았다.
