한국 현대시의 영어 번역에 관한 연구 -번역 작품과의 대비를 통하여- = A Study on the English Translation of Korean Modern Poetry -Mainly on the comparison to Translated Poetry-

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The importance of English translation of Korean literature works is not only a cultural propagation but also a very important task for the globalization of Korean literature. In 1930`s, English translation of Korean literature proposed by a group, so called, `Group of Abroad Literature`, and it realized by Zoˇng Insuˇp, Younghill Kang, Sungill Lee, Peter H. Lee, Peter Hyun, Jaihiun Kim, Korean translator and David R. McCann, Kevin O`Rourke, Anthony Teague, English speaking translator. English translation of Korean modem poetry is very difficult in the view of poetic forms-stanza, line, rhyme, meter, and lexical meaning. Especially, Korean cultural meanings with the poetic dictions haven`t translatability to English lexical meanings. But if much more cultivating in translation of Korean Poetry, there will be more good English translation of Korean modern poetry.
