공과대학의 조선산업 설계분야 산업기여도 평가 사례연구 = A Case Study on the Evaluation of Degree of Contribution to Industry of Engineering Education in the Field of Shipbuilding Design

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study is aimed at making contribution to the improvement of college curriculums in line with the demands of users by examining and evaluating how much the practical competency required in the industry is reflected in the curriculums of engineering colleges. For the study, we evaluated the field of designing in shipbuilding industry based on the needs profile by utilizing existing evaluation model of contribution made by engineering colleges to industry. To do so, we selected 351 heads of divisions and 357 four-year college graduates with a degree in shipbuilding or related field who now work in a company. We also conducted a survey on satisfaction rate of capability required by the industry. As the result of the survey, evaluation on all areas except for the evaluation on the college graduates in the field of cabin design showed scores above the average and the evaluation by the heads of division generally showed higher scores than the evaluation done by the graduates. As a result of analyzing the difference of evaluation results between the heads of divisions and graduates, it was found out that there was significant difference in some capability units in the field of basic design, machinery fitting design and cabin design. The result of this study holds important meaning in that it could be utilized as a useful index that will answer the needs for talented technicians in the industry by examining college curriculums and contents of curriculums from the perspective of the industry.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구의 목적은 산업계에서 요구하는 실무역량에 대한 공과대학 교육과정의 반영 정도를 조사․평가하고 수요자의 요구에 따른 대학의 교육과정 개선에 기여하는 데 있다. 이를 위해 기존에 연구ㆍ개발된 공과대학 산업기여도 평가모델을 활용하여 조선산업의 설계분야를 대상으로 니즈프로파일에 기초한 평가를 진행하였다. 이를 위해 조선 관련 4년제 대학을 졸업하고 기업체에 근무하는 졸업생과 이들의 부서장 각각 357명, 351명을 평가 대상자로 선정하여 산업 요구역량 충족도를 평가하였다. 평가 결과 선실설계 분야의 졸업생 평가를 제외하고는 모든 분야의 평가가 보통 이상으로 나타났고, 부서장의 평가가 대체적으로 졸업생 평가 보다는 다소 높게 나타났다. 부서장과 졸업생간 평가의 차이를 분석한 결과, 기본설계, 기장설계, 선실 설계 분야의 일부 능력단위에서 유의미하게 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구의 결과는 산업의 현장성 측면에서 교육과정 및 교육내용을 점검하게 함으로써, 산업계의 기술 인재 니즈에 부응할 수 있는 유용한 지표로 활용될 수 있다는 데 그 의의가 있다.
