    The purpose of this study is to define what are more frequent nursing diagnosis in clinic, and nursing diagnosis used in students' clinical practice in relation to how it fits into our culture and educational background.
    In order for nursing to be more scientific we must try to provide more basic data and develop nursing dagnosis.
    The subjects of this study are 73 third year students in H university for 2 years (1993-1994). After they completed adult nursing clinical practice they submitted case studies. In these case reports only nursing diagnosis was considered. These students' nursing diagnoses are compared with NANDN's etiology of nursing diagnosis by frequency.
    The results of this study are as follow.
    1. The total 687 of nursing diagnoses were confirmed among 198 case report. 42 of NANDA's diagnoses were used.
    2. The most frequent diagnoses are "Nutrition alteration in : less than body
    requirements"(14.8%). In order of frequency, "Comfort, alteration in"(14.7%). "Potential for infection"(11.2%). "Knowledge deficit"(7.9%). "Anxiety"(7.1%). "skin integrity, impairment of : potential"(4.7%). etc.
    3. In the classification according to 9 human response patterns, the nursing diagnoses correspondant to exchanging was 49.35%, feeling 27.66%, moving 8.15%, knowing 8.15%, perceiving 4.37%, choosing 2.77&, relating 1.46%, communicating 0.3% and valuing 0%.
    4. 1) The related factors of " nutrition, alteration in : less than body requrements" are 'lack of interest in food'(24), 'inability to digest food or absorb nutrients'(17) and 'nausea and vomiting'(17). etc.
    2) The related factors of "Comfort, alteration" are 'pain'(60) and 'nausea and vomiting'(8). etc.
    3) The related factors of "Potential for infection" are 'operation wound'(20) and 'effect of immune suppression by anticancer drug'(18). etc.
    4) The related factors of "Knowledge deficit" are 'about disease process'(15) and 'about diet'(8). etc.
    5) The related factors of " Anxiety" are 'operation'(16) and knowledge/information deficit'(13). etc.
    In the nursing diagnosis used by the students, the vocabulary of the related factor is diverse. Some of nursing diagnosis was used many but the other wasn't used.
