The increasing applications of electric/electronic system(E/E system) in passenger cars have resulted in a staggering complexity that is increasing risks from systematic failures and random hardware failures. ISO 26262 is a standard for functional safety development processes to provide evidence that all reasonable functional safety objectives of E/E system in road vehicles are satisfied. ISO 26262 is comprised of system development phase(part 4) and each hardware(part 5), software development(part 6) sub-phase separately. In this paper, we introduce our software design and verification practices compliant with requirements of ISO 26262-part 6 for Electric Power Steering(EPS) application.
