Because of foods' experience characteristic and credence characteristic in food market, there exists an asymmetry of information regarding quality information. The most representative policy measure is food label system to solve this asymmetry of the quality information.
To analyze the effect of the food label system, the national health and nutrition survey of the Korea Health Industry Development Institute was utilized. Using this data, for adults over their full age of 19, factors affecting their use of the label information and the amount of nutrient intake were grasped and the effect of nutrient label system was measured using treatment effect model.
Regarding the factors affecting the use of the label information, it turned out that female, married people, those with higher level of income, those with higher level of education, those on a dietary treatment, those who had heard guidelines for eating habits, those with a higher level of practice of the guidelines for eating habits, those who had received nutrition education and those who exercised regularly used the label information more
The factors that affect fat energy and the amount of major nutrient intake turned out to vary depending on each nutrient. First, the factors that affect both fat energy and the amount of major nutrient intake turned out to be age, sex, regularity of meal.
For the factors that affect the amount of fat energy intake, people with a higher level of education, those on a dietary treatment, those who eat out often, those who have good eating habits, those who exercise regularly turned out to intake it more than those who don't.
For the factors that affect the amount of carbohydrate intake, married people, those who live in countries, those at a lower level of income, those with a higher level of education, those who have good eating habits, those who drink alcohol frequently and those who exercise regularly turned out to intake it more.

As a result of an analysis of the effect of nutrient label system using treatment effect model, for fat energy, carbohydrate and sodium, the amount of the intake turned out to increase when the nutrient label information is not used than when used. Meanwhile, it was analyzed that people intake more dietary fiber when the nutrient label information is used than when not.
