국어 청자 높임법의 비합의 표현 연구 : 신소설 자료를 중심으로 = A Study of Disagreement Expression of Korean Honorifics from the New-Novel

국문 초록 (Abstract)

이 연구는 신소설 자료에 나타난 국어 청자 높임법의 비합의 표현의 사용 양상을 고찰한 것이다. 국어 청자 높임법의 비합의 표현은 대화 참여자가 특정한 의도를 가지고 청자와의 합의가 힘들 것으로 예상되는 청자 높임법의 등급을 의도적으로 사용한 표현을 의미한다. 이러한 비합의 표현을 대화에 협력할 것인지 갈등을 유발하거나 증폭할 것인지의 화자 의도에 따라 협력형과 갈등형으로 나누고, 그러한 표현이 자기 자신을 향한 발화인지 타인을 향한 발화인지에 따라 자기지향적 표현과 타자지향적 표현으로 나누었다. 국어 청자 높임법의 비합의 표현에 대한 이 연구는 그간 비정상적이거나 비규범적인 것으로 평가되어 국어 청자 높임법의 연구에서 배제되었던 비합의 표현을 분석함으로써 국어 청자 높임법 사용의 역동성을 포착하는 데 도움을 줄 수 있으며, 이후 시대별 자료의 분석과 비교를 통해 국어 청자 높임법 사용 양상의 변화를 추적하는 데에도 도움이 될 수 있기를 기대한다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study is to consider the aspects of use of disagreement expression in Korean honorifics from the new-novel. The disagreement expression in Korean honorifics means that the dialogue participants are using intentional grade of Korean honorifics expecting that it may be difficult to reach the agreement with the hearer with specific purpose. This disagreement expression is classified into a cooperative type and a conflictive type according to the speaker's intentions if he/she wants to cooperate or cause or expand the conflict in the dialogue. And the expression is sorted into self-oriented if the speech is toward him/herself, but other-oriented if toward the others. A study of the disagreement expression in Korean honorifics in Korean is expected to be helpful to catch the dynamics in using Korean honorifics by analyzing the expression, which has been excluded from the study of Korean honorifics so far because it has been regarded to be unusual and ungrammatical. Furthermore, it is expected to be helpful to trace the changing aspect of using Korean honorifics through the comparative analysis of the periodic data afterward.
